Chesapeake City offices will be closed Wednesday. Courts will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The Circuit Court clerk's office will be open Tuesday and closed Wednesday.
Norfolk City offices and Circuit Court will be closed Wednesday. Commissioner of the Revenue and the Treasurer's office, and General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations courts will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Portsmouth City offices will close at noon Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday. General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations courts are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Circuit Court will be closed Wednesday.

Garbage collection
Chesapeake Garbage normally collected Wednesday will be collected Thursday. Garbage normally collected Thursday will be picked up Friday. Garbage normally collected Friday will be picked up Saturday.
Norfolk Garbage collection is normal.
Portsmouth All trash, bulk waste and recycling will be collected on a normal schedule.
Suffolk Garbage normally picked up Wednesday will be collected Thursday. Garbage normally picked up Thursday will be collected Friday. Garbage normally picked up Friday will be collected Saturday.
Virginia Beach Garbage normally picked up Wednesday will be collected Saturday.
Hampton roads transit
On Wednesday, HRT buses and light rail will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Postal service
Post offices may shorten lobby hours Tuesday. They will be closed Wednesday with no regular mail delivery. For up-to-date information, contact your local post office.
Public libraries
Chesapeake Libraries will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday.
Norfolk Libraries will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday.
Portsmouth Libraries close at noon Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday.
Suffolk Libraries will close at noon on Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday.
Virginia Beach Libraries close at 5 p.m. Tuesday and will remain closed Wednesday. The Joint-Use Library at Tidewater Community College is closed through Jan. 1.
Recreation centers
Chesapeake Community centers will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday.
Norfolk Rec centers will be closed Wednesday.
Portsmouth Rec centers close at noon Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday.
Suffolk All Suffolk joint-use recreation centers will be open for youth basketball practices only Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday. The East Suffolk Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday. The Parks and Recreation administration offices will close at noon Tuesday and remain closed Wednesday. Suffolk's four major parks will be open during the holiday with no attendant on duty.
Virginia Beach Rec centers and city parks will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday and will remain closed Wednesday.
State offices
DMV All Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will be closed Wednesday. Service for common transactions is available at www.dmvnow.com and 888-337-4782.
ABC Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control stores will be closed Wednesday.
